Welcome to my personal website. An independent post is preferable to an online community like MySpace et al, with all the template, file & tool limitations. Online's a great way to meet people. Online communities are also a great way...to be spammed and "communing" with people of no interest. Plus most can afford 5 bucks a month for GoDaddy to host.;-)

Song playing is The Corr's Rebel Heart. Clicking images bring enlargements up in new windows.

I'm 6'3" (don't get excited, that's only my height), average build, naturally-frosted hair. Mostly grey now. I graduated from LA Tech. In the interim I spent a semester at LSU. WAY too many distractions, including streaking, drinking and campus-wide promiscuity (I did my best to "make the grade".;-)) Dropped out, managed a jeans shop, then decided I needed to make some real money. For seven months I worked offshore. With all that entailed, I became convinced if I could endure that, I could anything. Made enough money to return to Tech and earned a BFA in Graphic Design. (A brief marriage occurred.)

Formerly a creative at two international ad agencies in Dallas (Sr. AD, then Creative Director in a small Tulsa shop), I now happily own a one-man online design & sales "biddness". It entails nationwide architectural signage distribution, and provides well. I office in my 3-bedroom brick with a time-intensive lawn (which others attend; mowing's never been a hobby).

I keep my own hours, and enjoy cooking a healthy lunch and have the luxury of napping daily. (Yes you read right. "'Call me ''weak'... and I'll call you...?":-) With the top search results in my industry, I also have the luxury selecting the customers I care to work with. "No Shirt, No Shoes...No Service." I'm disinclined to accept caca from anyone, particularly when they're making unreasonable demands or are lying.

I realize I look mean in this pic. So jes' quit lookin'.:-)

Not lookin' so dour here...just "squinty".

Oooopsies: Dour again.

I'm also artistic, linguistic, something of a perfectionist. Those who hit any key in a missive and expect others to translate it into English, fuggeddabout.:-) I can be witty & warm when warranted ("lol"; not one of my favorite expressions unless someone's literally "laughing out loud"). Extremely funny to some, an enigma to those who "just don't get it". I drive a pre-owned '90 420 SEL Mercedes because it's a dependable & classic car. It only cost about 9 grand after minor improvements. The oft-used retractable roof panel is a fun bonus.

Music? I'm a big-time music lover and "investor". There's a page devoted to just that. "Joe Bob Briggs Sez: 'Check it out.'"

TV: I watch Sunday & Monday Night Football, Fox's Sunday Night, AMC's Mad Men, & Three and a Half Men (scheduling conflicts those nights), American Idol... and enjoyed West Wing, Will & Grace, Friends, Ed, The Practice, Boston Public (David E. Kelly RULES!!!:-) & Pushing Daises before they were cancelled. John Stewart's on target, as is most of Comedy Central. NBC's The Office & 30 Rock works. Loved Monk. Contrived "Reality shows"? "Not so much."

Movies I've appreciated: Anything directed by Tim Burton, which usually stars Johnny Depp who was a hoot in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Jeremiah Johnson, Braveheart, Tucker, Rob Roy, Kill Bill I & II, Schindler's List, Gladiator, Chinatown, Batman franchise (detect a theme?) and the ilk. School of Rock is delightful. Temporarily became a member of Netflix. First I caught up on W.C. Fields, then watched Spiderman III and online, March of the Penguins...for free. Most recently watched No Country for Old Men then The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Ed Wood, Blue Velvet (not really as "kin-kay" as purported; I thought everyone snorted helium during sex (perens within a perens: That was "dry humor")), Being John Malkovich & The Dark Knight. (Interestingly, that '08 film is second only to Titanic in U.S. gross box office receipts.) Hated: Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Enjoy being in or out... but mostly in. I've heard there are cooties outside , but perhaps you can disabuse me? Seriously: There's nothing more invigorating than white watering down the Buffalo in AR, or dipping your head in a pristine CO mountain stream. Just doesn't come up every day. I'll skip anything involving heights...or snakes. Never understood the allure of the beach; it's just hot, sandy & salty to me. I prefer my land solid and water fresh. (Lose the bottled water, people. There's NO benefit.) Spring & Fall are my favorite seasons. No sweat, no bundle up, just enjoy.

I prefer cats over dogs but have none now because they kept going MIA. They either wandered off, or got run over like "Fudgerbuddy", when he was running to meet me as I went to the mailbox. Heartbreaking. He was like a cartoon cat hovering over my lap at 5:30 when I watch the news. Almost before I sat down he predictably plopped into my lap. Click HERE for the Feline Laws of Physics. Male grey shit-for-breed tabbies have always been the best.

CNN is on on all day, and I consider myself well informed and politically & socially astute. Consider me Democratic and very ethical, but there are WAY too many disparate organized religions out there. If someone wants to devote their lives to and borrow principles from something some deity ostensibly proclaimed thousands of years ago...that many men (not women) then interpreted, retranslated & attributed hundreds of years later..."OK". Except it isn't: Every sect, branch & variety of every religion thinks they have "The One Truth". Given that they all contradict the others--and even themselves in their own texts--"that's a stretch". Indeed, "thinking" is the true, best "religion". It just takes more effort than reciting archaic verses & even ecumenical aspirations to come to a broader, more reasoned life approach. (I recognize that Betty Crocker pre-fab mixes are easier than cookin' from scratch.) I don't think "religion" is even a serious issue...except so many people take it so seriously, often to the detriment of many. The vast majority of wars and conflict in this world have certifiably been the result of "piety". "Sermon over."

The reason for this post: I'm not seeing anyone right now, and I'd like to fix that. I live in the small town of Ruston LA, where age boundaries are clearly drawn & women my age are seemingly all married. I also like to drink and smoke cigs, so if that's "a pro-brem 4 U..."...then it is. Some of us "bad boys" are still around. I'm no longer a kid but I'm a kid at heart. What comes with experience is knowledge, and how to better address life & opportunities, personal & professional. I still look for the best in life...even though it doesn't always present itself serendipitously.

"Looking For": If a woman is reasonably bright & attractive, has a decent sense of humor, a modicum of class, and can assimilate & appreciate the sense of this profile, it's a start. I'd simply enjoy a mature, entertaining, ideally-physical relationship with an engaging pretty lady, legal to 49. Most men of any age who would deny that are "spoofin' ya". Unless marriage or an LTR are prerequisite, whether it's a convergence of different or the same age range is irrelevant; generally people of value always have something to offer the other. One thing you'll assuredly get from me is honesty...and very likely a broadened, well-considered viewpoint.

I'm open to a brief OR a long-term relationship, depending on mutualities. BTW: I've been told several times I'm a good lover... by some whom I've actually even met.:-)

Interesting note: One visitor offered: "...read your site...you are well spoken and written...i'm not sure how many women you will be attracting with it however as you sound quite pompous and self absorbed in it." Another opined about that: "Yeah some people would think "self absorbed" instead of thinking "passionate about what you believe in" or just a simple "playing fair". "Go Figger." I've been told I'm "intense". I can only take that as a compliment.
